At Museumsgaarden Kringsminde you can get really close to the old days! The cozy open-air museum is open to visitors for events all year round, and there are plenty of both outdoor and indoor activities for the whole family!

Kringsminde: Life in the countryside in the old days

Museumsgården Kringsminde is a beautiful old half-timbered farm with associated farmland and livestock, which today functions as a working museum. Here you can experience and participate in agriculture and farm life as it was in the period from 1850-1950 in Denmark.

Many of Kringsminde's activities are carried out by volunteers who have organized themselves in old-fashioned craft guilds. You can meet the various guilds at the museum garden's events and try your hand at the old traditions and crafts.

Free child-friendly activities all year round at Kringsminde

At Museumgaarden Kringsminde there are free activities and events all year round, based on life on the farm.

For example, come to the spring event on the farm and see the farm's sheep being sheared and the parsley garden made ready for spring. There will be tastings, small workshops and activities for both young and old. The farm also holds both a harvest festival and the popular Christmas event Jul på Kringsminde. For all events, there will also be sales from the farm shop as well as various plants, crafts, raw materials, etc.

Agriculture, museum and attraction in one close to Fredericia

Museumsgaarden Kringsminde is located in the small village of Egeskov, just a stone's throw from Fredericia. Kringsminde's current buildings are from the 1700th century, but it is known that there have been farms and agriculture on the site as far back as the 1600th century.

Kringsminde was used for farming right up until 1975, when the farm was bought by Fredericia Municipality and later protected. Kringminde was transformed into a museum farm in 1990, where the buildings were at the same time restored back to their original appearance. Since then, the farm has functioned as a museum farm, first under the Fredericia Museum and now as an independent institution.
