Østerstrand is a beautiful sandy beach in Fredericia, ideal for relaxation, swimming and beach activities. In fact, the beach has been nominated several times for Denmark's best bathing beach. It offers good facilities such as a playground, beach volleyball courts and a café. Right next to it is Cirkelbroen, a modern circular bridge that connects Østerstrand with the marina. The bridge is an architectural work of art which offers a great view of the Little Belt and is perfect for a relaxing walk.

The owl and the woodpecker

Go on a wooden sculpture hunt! Find the over 300 kg owl in Fuglsang Skov and the over 4 meter tall black woodpecker in Trelde Næs.

The 2 wooden sculptures are more than just an impressive sight for the eye!
The owl is a symbol of the owl population in the natural areas in and around Fredericia. The aim here is to put more focus on better conditions for the owls.
The great tree owl is also an owl's nest, which the forest's pair of owls can use during the breeding season.

The tall woodpecker is a symbol of the nature area's high biodiversity. The black woodpecker is one of the rarer woodpeckers found and breeding on Trelde Næs!

The White Water Tower

The White Water Tower in Fredericia is an iconic building with an impressive view of the city and Little Belt. The tower was built in 1909 and has been an important landmark over the years. Visitors can not only enjoy a panoramic view from the top, but also learn about the water tower and Fredericia's old buildings.

The Brave Soldier

Just below the White Water Tower you will find another landmark of Fredericia - The Brave Soldier.

HW Bissen's famous monument The Brave Landsoldat - or Landsoldaten in colloquial speech - is Fredericia's most important monument and a frequently used landmark for the city. 

The Brave Country Soldier was erected in 1858 to commemorate the Danes' victory at the Battle of Fredericia on 6 July 1849. The statue symbolizes both the battle and its importance during the Schleswig Wars.
In fact, Landsoldaten is the world's first statue dedicated to the common soldier, which made it unique already in 1858.

Fredericia Vold

Fredericia Vold is one of Northern Europe's best-preserved fortifications, originally built in the 1600th century. Fredericia city festival

Come along to the Fredericia town festival - held every year on 5 and 6 July.
