The rampart Trindvold / Trindhøj

Distance: 12.37 Km

The stronghold of Trindvold or Trindhøj is the remains of an old fortification at Brejning, which, together with other castles from the Middle Ages, could protect against enemy attacks from the sea side. Visit the ramparts on a fresh hike in the area close to Vejle Fjord.

The old fortress, called Trindhøj or Trindvold, is located near Brejning. The stronghold is the remains of an old fortification which, in conjunction with other castles from the Middle Ages, could protect against enemy attacks from the sea side.

The rampart consists of a bank with a small top surface, where there has probably been a wooden tower surrounded by a palisade. It is one of the country's best-preserved mote facilities (refuge castle).

Trindhøj is a good starting point for a hike in nature and in Kellers Park, and the rampart is close to Vejle Fjord. It is obvious to stop by here if you are still on a walk in the area around Vejle.
