The thoughts behind Kanalbyen - Fredericia's new district

The canal city lies with the Lillebælt on one side and the center of Fredericia on the other. The harbor area, which formerly housed industry, is now being transformed into a green og urban building and living area with room to unfold.

Explore the exciting urban spaces through 5 hotspots

The whole story around the Canal City unfolds through 5 architectural nodes.

You start at Fisketorvet with the story of the industrial area, which has become a vibrant district, and along the way you will also hear about climate protection and nature's special place in the area. You will also learn about Fredericia's original master plan from the 1600th century, which forms the entire basis for the Canal City and about a very special royal point.

On Kanalbyen's city walk, you are not dependent on a guide - the walk takes place on your own, so you can leave whenever you feel like it!
